🐾 Meet Gibson — Your Next Best Friend!

Gibson is a 3 year old 30 lb husky mix that is currently being fostered by Blackhawk Rescue and Rehab. Gibson actually came to us as a training dog for Blackhawk K-9 and was so loved that they paid for him to go through 6 weeks of training despite knowing that he likely would not be a good fit for their family.

He absolutely loves all humans (both big and small)! He loves dogs and is very playful when he meets new furry friends! Gibson is not a good fit in a home with cats or small animals (birds, ferrets, etc). So far we have not had issues with small dogs, but the smallest dog introduced to him was 20-25 pounds.

Gibson is incredibly intelligent and loves to learn new things! He's an incredible adventure partner who loves hiking, camping, and exploring the outdoors while also being the ultimate snuggle buddy during down time. He adores curling up near his people, or snoozing near them during the day.

As part husky, Gibson has the playful energy and adventurous spirit you’d expect — he thrives on daily walks, outdoor time, and staying active with his people. But true to his sweet nature, once he’s had the chance to get his energy out, he’s content to settle right in and be your lap buddy. He’s great with kids and with dogs his size or larger, and while he’s never been an only dog, he would do well as the sole pup as long as he has plenty of love and attention from his human pack.

Gibson has plenty of experience traveling and is a dream in the car - he settles right down and goes to sleep.

Now, Gibson is looking for the final piece of his happily-ever-after: a loving, structured home. While his obedience training is complete, he’s still learning how to unwind from kennel life and embrace the joy of couch snuggles. The great news? Professional training lessons are included to help make his transition smooth for everyone.
